Technical Product Owner - Firmware

As a Technical Product Owner - Firmware, you’ll be part of our technology team reporting to our VP Engineering. Your task will be to own the outcome and process of developing and maintaining the firmware of our EV (AC) charging station product range in a market in which requirements are rapidly evolving. You’ll determine what needs to be build and convey that vision to the development team. 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Discovering and understanding continuously evolving customer and stakeholder needs in the EV charging domain (e.g. EV drivers, EV manufacturers, utility/energy providing companies)
  • Work closely with product management, 3rd line technical support and product experts to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Assess value, develop cases, prioritise and translate business requirements into features and functional designs for the firmware development team to work on
  • Provide context, details and refinement on features to the development team
  • Work within our firmware/embedded software development team to come to planning estimates and manage expectations for delivery of new functionalities
  • Drive improving product and firmware quality, creating a solid cornerstone for a product range with rapidly increasing sales numbers


  • Strong relevant work experience as a Product Owner/Project Manager in an agile environment
  • Strong understanding of (preferably experience in) firmware/embedded software architecture and development, both embedded C and Linux
  • Proven experience in gathering and transforming business requirements into a successful product strategy including planning, creating and maintaining a product backlog and releasing subsequent versions of firmware/embedded software
  • Knowledge of connectivity and M2M protocols used in IoT
  • Experience working with development teams, both internal and external
  • Strong project management and planning skills
  • Track record in the EV industry is a plus
